Zheng Mengqiang “Warm Flow From The East Coast“

Zheng Mengqiang's works give me the feeling of pulling my thoughts to a far far away place, each painting seems to be a movie. I watched the whole movie while viewing one painting. There is a quiet power in viewing it, yet the picture itself is tense. Zheng Mengqiang seems to have captured a certain key scene, a parting lover, a distant look, a peaceful scene of enjoying life with his family, a moment that is a dramatic turn in our lives. Zheng Mengqiang captures this scene in life, feeling that the scene itself is very dramatic, a scene with a turning point, but placed in a background of blurred borders and mild colors, as if seeing the end of a story. His paintings, even in very dramatic scenes, such as the one in my background, the moment when he and his wife first learned of the impending baby, a moment full of joy and love, through his images, also gave me a sense of calm and warmth.
